James serves as a Paraplanner, providing value in many areas which affects multiple aspects of the firm. Understanding and coordinating the effectiveness of supporting Advisors with resources and data is the main focus of his work. James provides vital assistance with technological tools and resources in the firm, such as optimizing the use of RockWay’s CRM, Financial Planning software, marketing software, workflows, investment research, etc. He also assists in collaboration and execution of firm processes and systems. All of James’ work tangibly supports the quality of serving more clients better for their desired outcomes.
James is originally from the suburbs of Chicago. He moved to Ames, IA after high school to attend Iowa State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Finance and Minor in Management. James has worked in sales in the past and also worked closely with a Financial Advisor during college, where he assisted in a wide range of aspects. This led to greater efficiencies in that practice and gave him an introduction to the industry which strengthened his desire to become a Financial Advisor. In his current Paraplanner role, James is also pursuing a Series 65 license to accomplish that goal, with an additional interest in becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) in the future.
In his free time James enjoys watching Iowa State Cyclones football and basketball, the Chicago Cubs and Bears, playing the guitar, and golfing.
